Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi on Thursday morning sneaked out of his home, despite a heavy police deployment there and made his way to Bugiri to attend the burial of prominent local politician Siraji Lyavala.
Kyagulanyi had been placed under preventive arrest and confined to his home in Wakiso by police, following the events surrounding the cancellation of his planned Easter Monday concert.
Bobi Wine was placed under house arrests after declaring mass protests against police brutality and impunity.
When the former IGP Kale Kayihura recieved the news of Bobi Wine escape, our source said that Kale Kayihura could not hide his excitement and relieved. This due to the facts that during his regime as IGP the president terminated him claiming Kawukumi had plagued the police.
“They said I had infested police with “Kawukumu” (bean weavils) but now am not there, where did Kawukumi come from,” the former IGP was heard telling his aide while at his country farm in Lyantonde.
President Museveni fired police boss Gen Kale Kayihura together with security minister Lt Gen Henry Tumukunde. Later on he appointed Ochola as IGP who was deputised by Brig Sabiiti Muzeyi, the former head of Military Police who was appointed following his stint as deputy Commander of Special Forces.
